I haven’t ridden in Uruguay, but I have ridden in Argentina! The estancias are beautiful and the cattle are numerous, but I didn’t ride the beach like it appears you did in Uruguay- it is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the entire episode! Corinna

I think Justin Barndt misses the point. Darley's not a hard journalist – that's why we may all enjoy the Post. Asking to hear Katherine McPhee's and Jana Mashonee's performances is poor form. This is not a forum for piracy. However, I suspect that despite familiarity with hard journalism, Justin hasn't learned much about grammar and writing, as he likely meant "read". Of course one cannot "hear" something in a blog, unless it's audio, which would be asking a PBS travel show producer to pirate copyrighted work. "Hey, Mom. I never mastered the English language!"Darley – Seeing mustangs on the National Mall must have been a special treat. Thanks for sharing the experience with we equisearchers.

Such a short review of an auspicious event…more like "hey Mom, I went to a barbeque!" rather than reporting. I've read about the event in the DC papers, which is real reporting so I was disappointed to see a less than stellar and informative review here. Would have loved to hear Katherine McPhee but more than an American Idol has been I would have loved to hear the angelic and incredible voice of Jana Mashonee who was an afterthought in this article.

I've been emailing with some friends with horses that are not near the volcano, but are in Iceland and for them, life is continuing as usual. I'm not sure anyone has organized something cohesive for those who are being affected near the volcano, but I'll keep searching.
